Best indication that your local dictator has become a bit too enamored of himself:

His excellency Saparmurat Niyazov, ‘Turkmenbashi’, the President of Turkmenistan, who died of a heart attack in 2006.
His excellency Saparmurat Niyazov, ‘Turkmenbashi’, the President of Turkmenistan, who died of a heart attack in 2006.

Some say that he established a ‘cult of personality’ just because he renamed the days of the week after family members and constructed a fifty foot gold-plated statue of himself in Ashgabat. The statue stood on a rotating pedestal so that it would always face the sun.

The statue was melted down shortly after his death. But Turkmenbashi lives on in the words of his epic poem “You are Turkmen”, an excerpt of which is enshrined below:

Let your cream boil over always, never feel the lack of it,

You are the Turkmen, with strong and agile arms!

Worst remark from an obnoxious liberal:

“I think that point of view is fine if it helps you as a coping mechanism.”

Runner-up: “Hello, I’m Mildred Cunningham, environmental advocate/incest survivor.”

Best succinct summation of the liberal agenda:

“A liberal is someone who wants to salve his guilt with your money.” – JK

Best photo I have of our dear departed political commentator/genius, Tony Blankley:

Photo snapped in D.C. a year or so before Tony’s untimely death in January of 2012. To his left are my wife Judie and Tony’s wife Lynda. I’m the bald guy.
